The main event saw heavyweight Steven Asplund obliterate Anthony Guarascio in a breathtaking 16 seconds. Asplund, known for his explosive power and colorful personality, lived up to his nickname "Concrete," delivering a devastating knockout that ranks as the third-fastest in DWCS history. His electrifying performance earned him a contract, despite the incredibly short fight time.

The co-main event featured another astonishingly fast finish. Featherweight Lerryan Douglas knocked out Cam Teague in a mere 36 seconds. Douglas, showcasing his experience and precision, unleashed a devastating combination of hooks that ended the fight abruptly. Although Asplund's knockout stole some of the spotlight, Douglas still secured his UFC contract.

The featured light heavyweight bout between Freddy Vidal and Felipe Franco was a compelling back-and-forth battle. While Franco dominated early, Vidal's resilience and skill ultimately led to a third-round rear-naked choke submission victory. Despite the impressive win, Vidal's missed weight resulted in Dana White declining to offer him an immediate contract, although he was offered a chance to compete in the season finale.

Lightweight Samuel Sanches also secured a UFC contract after a first-round knockout victory over Chasen Blair. Sanches displayed explosive power, turning the tide of the fight to deliver a dominant finish.

Finally, the opening bout between Carol Foro and Shanelle Dyer showcased remarkable determination and heart from both fighters. While Foro emerged victorious via unanimous decision after a relentless onslaught, the fight's intensity was recognized by Dana White, resulting in both women earning UFC contracts.

Week 5 of DWCS Season 9 solidified its place in Contender Series history with its incredible knockouts and the remarkable resilience shown by all the fighters. The night proved once again that DWCS continues to unearth the next generation of UFC stars.
