Los Angeles police uncovered the decomposing remains of two women in separate vehicles located at different tow yards this week, according to law enforcement sources. The first discovery occurred on Monday afternoon at Hollywood Tow in the Mansfield Avenue area. Responding officers, alerted by a foul odor emanating from the trunk of a Tesla, found human remains. The Tesla, bearing a Texas license plate, had been abandoned in the upscale Bird Streets neighborhood of Hollywood Hills five days prior. The condition of the remains hampered immediate gender identification, according to initial reports from the L.A. County medical examiner's office.
A second, unrelated discovery was made on Tuesday. The body of another woman, partially burned, was found inside a Honda Civic at a separate tow yard. This vehicle, connected to a prior missing person report, had been towed on August 25th. The circumstances surrounding this death are being investigated as a separate incident.
The Tesla, involved in the Hollywood Hills case, is registered to David Anthony Burke, better known as the musician D4vd. This death investigation is currently underway, and the LAPD has classified the Hollywood Hills case as such. A law enforcement source described the remains found in the Tesla as a ‘head and torso’ contained within a bag in the vehicle’s trunk. D4vd, who rose to prominence through TikTok, currently has 3.6 million followers on the platform and was scheduled to perform in Minneapolis as part of his world tour on Tuesday.
The LAPD continues its investigation into both incidents, working to determine the circumstances surrounding both deaths.
