This innovative wearable, which integrates a discreet in-lens display, was first unveiled at Connect 2025 and represents a significant step forward in augmented reality eyewear.

Currently, prospective buyers must secure an in-person demonstration to purchase the glasses. These demos are available at participating Best Buy, LensCrafters, Sunglass Hut, Ray-Ban stores, and the dedicated Meta Lab. Due to high demand, demo appointments are quickly filling up, with many locations booked through late October, and some even into November or December. During the demo, staff will ensure the correct fit for the accompanying Meta Neural Band by measuring the user's wrist. Meta is actively working to increase demo availability by adding more stores and plans to introduce online sales eventually, but for now, an in-store visit is essential.

The Meta Ray-Ban Display glasses are offered in two stylish colors, Glossy Black and Matte Sand, and two sizes, Standard and Large. All variations feature Transitions lenses, which automatically adjust to light conditions, making them suitable for both indoor and outdoor environments. Prescription lenses are supported for vision corrections between -4 and +4. International expansion is planned for early 2026, targeting markets such as the UK, Canada, France, and Italy.

Priced at $800, these smart glasses include all the functionalities of the standard Ray-Ban Meta glasses, enhanced by a small, fixed heads-up display (HUD) embedded in the right lens. Interaction with the HUD interface is achieved through intuitive finger gestures, detected by the innovative Meta Neural Band. This wristband employs surface electromyography (sEMG) to sense muscle activations in the wrist that correspond to finger movements. The Neural Band also boasts haptic feedback, an IPX7 water resistance rating, and an impressive estimated battery life of 18 hours.

The monocular HUD offers a 20-degree field of view, brightness up to 5000 nits, and a resolution of 600x600, providing 42 pixels per degree—a higher pixel density than even Apple Vision Pro. With only 2% light leakage, the display remains virtually invisible to others nearby, ensuring user privacy.

Weighing 69 grams, the Meta Ray-Ban Display glasses are heavier and feature bulkier frames and temples compared to the regular Ray-Ban Meta glasses (52 grams) and non-smart equivalents (45 grams), a necessary trade-off for the integrated display technology. Meta estimates approximately six hours of battery life under typical usage. A software update slated for December will further enhance the Neural Band, enabling text entry by swiping an index finger across any physical surface.

Initial hands-on experiences at Connect 2025 characterized the Meta Ray-Ban Display as a promising first-generation device with identifiable areas for improvement. However, the Meta Neural Band garnered significant praise for its remarkably effective and seemingly magical functionality.

*Update: Following the initial announcement, Meta has clarified that an in-person demo is, in fact, strictly required for the purchase of Meta Ray-Ban Display glasses, updating previous guidance.*
