The Detroit Lions delivered a resounding victory over the Chicago Bears in their home opener, amassing over 500 yards of total offense. This offensive explosion was largely fueled by exceptional performances from their wide receiver duo, Amon-Ra St. Brown and Jameson Williams. St. Brown hauled in nine catches for 115 yards and three touchdowns, while Williams showcased his speed and skill with two receptions for a remarkable 108 yards and one touchdown.

This offensive dominance resulted in a historic achievement, according to Pro Football Focus (PFF). PFF awarded the Lions' offense an overall grade of 85.2, but more impressively, a receiving grade of 90.9. This marks the highest single-game receiving grade for the Lions in PFF's data history, dating back to 2006, surpassing their previous record of 90.6 set in 2017.

St. Brown led the way with an individual receiving grade of 91.4 and a 91.6 overall offensive grade, his second-highest career mark. His efficiency was evident in his 9-of-11 target success rate, averaging 12.8 yards per reception. Tight end Brock Wright also contributed significantly, catching all three of his targets for 28 yards and a touchdown, earning an impressive 89.3 receiving grade.

Beyond the stellar receiving corps, PFF's detailed analysis revealed other key aspects of the game. Defensive standout Brian Branch earned the highest defensive grade (91.4) with an impactful performance featuring six tackles, two tackles for loss, a sack, a pass deflection, and a forced fumble. The offensive line, while showing improvement from week one, still faced challenges, particularly in run blocking.
