Tunisian authorities have launched an investigation into a reported drone attack on a ship belonging to the Global Sumud Flotilla (GSF) at the port of Sidi Bou Said. The flotilla, comprised of hundreds of activists and dozens of vessels from 44 countries, is aiming to break Israel's naval blockade of Gaza and deliver humanitarian aid. The GSF reported the attack as a deliberate attempt to disrupt their mission, marking the second such incident in two days. While Tunisian authorities described the incident as an 'orchestrated assault,' they did not specify any suspects. The attack resulted in a fire on board, quickly brought under control by civil protection authorities. Fortunately, no injuries were reported. Prominent figures such as Greta Thunberg and Mariana Mortagua are among those supporting the flotilla. The Israeli military has yet to comment on the allegations. Israel maintains its blockade of Gaza, imposed since Hamas's takeover in 2007, citing security concerns and a need to prevent weapons smuggling. This blockade remains in effect amidst the ongoing Israel-Hamas War, further highlighting the complex geopolitical dynamics surrounding the situation.
