Rising music star D4vd, known for his hit singles "Here With Me" and "Romantic Homicide," has abruptly canceled the remaining dates of his U.S. tour. This decision follows a police investigation into the discovery of a deceased teenage girl, Celeste Rivas, in a car registered to the singer, whose real name is David Anthony Burke. The body, found in a bag within the trunk of a Tesla, was discovered on September 8th at a Hollywood tow yard. The Los Angeles Police Department initiated the investigation after responding to reports of a foul odor emanating from the vehicle, which had been at the yard for several days. The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s office has confirmed the remains belong to Rivas, who had been missing since April 2024.

While the investigation is ongoing, NBC News reports that Burke is cooperating with authorities. Unconfirmed photos circulating online have depicted D4vd with the victim, adding another layer of complexity to the case. The vehicle was confirmed by the New York Times as not having been reported stolen. The shocking revelation led to the immediate cancellation of D4vd's remaining U.S. tour dates, including a Saturday concert in Los Angeles and a scheduled appearance at the Grammy Museum. A Wednesday concert in Seattle was already canceled earlier in the week, while tickets for a Friday show in San Francisco, though still on sale momentarily, are highly unlikely to take place. His European tour, however, is still scheduled to proceed. The unexpected news prompted Crocs and Hollister to suspend their collaboration with the singer for their "Dream Drop" campaign. A deluxe edition of his album, "Withered," originally slated for release on September 19th, has also been postponed. The 20-year-old artist performed in Minneapolis the day after the initial news broke, without publicly addressing the situation. The investigation remains active and further details are expected to emerge as the authorities continue their inquiries.
